These terms apply to the Ectograph app for Android, made by Frumpets Ltd ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. What Ectograph is

Ectograph is an entertainment app in the tradition of the spirit box. It reads your phone's real sensors and presents words, sounds and visuals in response to changes in those readings.

The sensor readings shown in the app are genuine measurements from your device's hardware. However, we make no claim that the app can detect, contact or communicate with spirits, ghosts or any paranormal phenomenon, and no such capability should be inferred from anything the app displays or says. The words the app produces are drawn from its own word bank in response to sensor activity. Use the app for entertainment.

2. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on Android devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Google Play terms of service. The app, including its voices, artwork and code, is protected by copyright. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer or create derivative works from the app, except where the law expressly allows it.

3. Purchases and refunds

Ectograph is sold as a one-time purchase through Google Play. Pricing is shown in the store before you buy. Payment, taxes and refunds are handled by Google under the Google Play refund policy. We do not process payments ourselves. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use the app in any way that breaks the law, endangers you or anyone else, or infringes anyone's rights. In particular, do not rely on the app while driving or in any situation that needs your full attention, and do not present the app's output as evidence of fact about any person, living or dead.

5. The app is provided as is

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind beyond those that cannot be excluded by law. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, that readings will be available on every device, or that any particular sensor exists on your phone. Sensor availability varies by device, and features that depend on absent hardware will not appear.

6. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded under the law. Subject to that, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the app.

7. Changes to the app and these terms

We may update the app, add or remove features, or stop distributing it. We may also revise these terms; the effective date at the top shows the current version. If you keep using the app after a change takes effect, the revised terms apply to you.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute, except where the consumer law of your country of residence gives you additional protection that cannot be waived.
